These Gateway students decided Fridays are better with a little country flair and showed up ready to match Mr. Neighbors in jeans and cowboy hats.

We’re not sure when Cowboy Friday officially became a thing, but with this crew, we’re here for it! 🤠🐎
Thank you for being an inspiration to these students, Mr. Neighbors.

📖✨ A New Year. A New Chapter. A New Story. ✨📖

Every great story begins with a single page, and we're excited to start writing ours together!

This year at Douglass, our theme is "Write Your Own Story." We believe every student has the power to create a future filled with hope, growth, and success. No matter where your story has taken you, 2026–2027 is a new chapter—a chance to learn, grow, overcome challenges, and discover what's possible.

Throughout the year, we'll celebrate the people who help make Douglass a place where every story matters. Meet the educators, staff, and leaders who are ready to help our students turn the page and write their best chapter yet!

📚 Our first staff spotlight is the leader of our story: Mrs. Mason! She is the coordinator of all LPS alernative education programs. #WeAreLPS #LawtonPS #NewYearNewChapter #TheStoryofDLC

Today we celebrate an incredible educator and an even more incredible person — Rebekah Davis! 💐📚

After more than 30 years of dedicated service to Lawton Public Schools, Rebekah is beginning a well-deserved retirement. She was always the first to step in wherever she was needed — helping with enrollment, testing, activities, and so much more — all with a smile on her face and kindness in her heart.

Her positive spirit, willingness to help, and love for students and staff made a lasting impact on everyone around her. Rebekah truly helped make Douglass a special place. ❤️

As she begins this new chapter, we wish her endless joy spending time with her grandchildren, reading lots of good books, enjoying movies, and finally getting to sleep a little later! ☀️📖🎬

Thank you, Rebekah, for your years of service, compassion, and dedication. You will be deeply missed!

Congratulations and happy retirement! 🎉💖
