A big thank you to Derek Nichols, supervisor for Comanche County Eastern District No. 1, and his crew for patching several areas at the Lawton Public Schools Transportation Center on Thursday. Their work on the bus parking lot helps ensure our bus drivers have a smoother and safer ride as they transport thousands of students each day. Small improvements like these make a big difference for our transportation team and, ultimately, for the students and families we serve. We are grateful for the continued partnership and support of Comanche County Eastern District No. 1. Thank you for helping keep our buses — and our students — moving safely. We appreciate your service to our schools and our community! #WeAreLPS #LawtonPS #oklaed

A big shout-out to our friends at the Salvation Army! We want to recognize Captains Bryan and Tracy Brinlee and their staff for organizing the "Stuff the Bus" event.
Our community showed incredible support, contributing over $650 in donations and filling a bus with supplies. We are grateful to everyone who participated, either through volunteering or donations. Thank you, Lawton Fort Sill!

SHOUTOUT to our very own Patrick Stewart from MacArthur High School!!
At this month's SillFacts meeting, Patrick was recognized for his quick action, professionalism and courage while serving as a lifeguard at LETRA Beach.
Patrick performed the first rescue of the season when a 6-year-old boy drifted into deep water and began to struggle. He immediately recognized the danger, activated the Emergency Action Plan and entered the water to perform a front rescue. Because of his swift response and proper training, the child was safely brought out of the water and returned to his family.
Patrick’s calm response and decisive action prevented a frightening situation from becoming a tragedy. He was presented with Garrison Commander's coin.
