Maurice Mayfield

Lawton Public Schools (LPS) and Eisenhower High School (EHS) have announced that Maurice Mayfield will be the next head football coach of the Eagle program.

Mayfield is a 1991 graduate of EHS and an integral part of the Eagle’s 1990 State and National Championship football team. He went on to play college football at Coffeyville Community College and New Mexico State University before returning to Lawton and beginning his coaching career.

Since starting his coaching career, Mayfield has had a variety of roles since 1999 for Eisenhower. He served as the defensive coordinator for the football team from 2012-2018 and as a position coach from 1999-2011.

In 2020, Mayfield transitioned to Eisenhower Middle School (EMS) to help shape future Eagles for the past five years.

In addition to football, Mayfield has been the head boys golf coach at EHS since 2013 and took over as the head girls golf coach at the beginning of the 2025 season.

Mayfield and his wife Amber, who also coaches at Eisenhower, have three children.

The announcement comes after the position came open on November 14. The Eagles went 1-9 during the 2025 season, but have a lot of young players that made impacts on the field this season.
