Why Lawton Public Schools?

\r\n

Lawton Public Schools (LPS) is a premier school district with 27 educational sites in the heart of Southwest Oklahoma. LPS focuses on four guiding principles: preparing Life Ready Graduates, sharing professional ideals, promoting healthy lifestyles, and advocating for communication and transparency. LPS serves a diverse population of 12,600 students and employs nearly 2,000 staff members in the Lawton Fort Sill area.

\r\n

Offering a wide range of courses and extra-curricular activities, the district is expanding its educational opportunities PreK through 12 with Makerspaces, advanced high school course opportunities for middle school, and the Life Ready Center for high school students. LPS is committed to ensuring all students have access to interest-specific educational paths in a safe and welcoming environment.

\r\n

The district is family-oriented with excellent benefits and competitive pay. There is a great pathway for personal and professional growth opportunities through our educational partners Great Plains Technology Center and Cameron University.

\r\n

Through district bonds and the City of Lawton’s Capital Improvement Plan funds, LPS received over $142 million in community support over the past seven years. The district was able to fully replace Eisenhower Middle School, add safe rooms to elementary schools, go 1:1 district-wide with technology and purchase new textbooks. None of this would have been possible without the partnership of the Lawton Ft. Sill community. We are thrilled with the continued advancement and growth across the district.

Every day is a collaboration between educators, parents, and community partners coming together to motivate and exhilarate young minds.
